Tanxugueiras, María Arnal and Marcel Bagés, Queralt Lahoz and other great names of what is already known as the new folklore are part of the poster of an event that promotes an immersion in the artistic, gastronomic and natural roots
On June 10 and 11, 2022, the municipality of Carcabuey located in the heart of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park (Córdoba) hosts the first edition of Sonraíz . This musical, artistic, gastronomic and sustainable proposal seeks to promote the encounter and recognition of the elements that make up a culture and its origin. Music is oral cultural heritage of a society , knowledge transmitted from generation to generation, especially by women.
This cultural treasure has been reviewed and updated by the heirs of this tradition: Tanxugueiras (Galicia), Maria Arnal and Marcel Bagés (Catalonia), Queralt Lahoz (Catalonia), Ana Alcaide (Toledo), Sandra Bernardo (Madrid), White Dove (Alicante), Karmento (Albacete), Mestiza (Madrid), Nightingale (Extremadura), Jihan & David Heredia (Granada), Lourdes Pastor (Cordoba), Savage Project (Malaga), El Skylight Djs (Madrid) and Ussuru Sound (Cordoba). This initiative arises from the Rootsound Music promoter, with the collaboration of the Carcabuey City Council, the Córdoba Provincial Council, the Subbética Rural Development Group and the Subbética Commonwealth.
Smile, beyond music
But Sonraíz is not just a music festival . The organization has planned to promote knowledge about the main products of origin, in the case of Carcabuey and the entire Subbética region, there will be no shortage of oil or cheese tastings.
The natural and geological wealth of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park will also be present in this experience for people who wish to travel one of its many beautiful routes. Workshops to learn about local crafts, a market with manufactured products of ecological and sustainable origin and to live a multisensory experience in a unique environment is the offer that completes the program of this event.
To fully live this experience, the organization has arranged a Sonraíz limited subscription (200 seats) with which you can enjoy the entire experience during the 2 days of the festival, two events in unique places (Castillo de Carcabuey and Ermita del Calvario) during sunset each day and that include concerts and tasting of local delicacies. Then, at 10 p.m. and until dawn, on June 10 and 11, the concerts and DJ sessions will begin on the main stage located in Parque de la Charcuela. During the day on Sunday, people with season tickets who so wish will be offered a route along one of the trails with the greatest environmental and historical interest in the municipality, a visit to an exhibition and exclusive access to workshops .
However, if you only want to attend the concerts on the main stage on Friday and Saturday, you can also buy a subscription to access this space on both days . There are also individual tickets arranged by day and scenario.
However, the idea of Sonraíz is to offer a multisensory experience away from mass music events ; It is a celebration of the root culture, of the Culture of Origin with all the elements that make it up: music and other arts, gastronomy and agriculture and the exuberant nature of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park.
