MELINA

Melina is one of the most promising new voices on the European hybrid and contemporary music scene. A Franco-Greek artist born in Paris, her project occupies a fertile space where tradition and modernity interact naturally, giving rise to a soundscape that blends pop, folk, Eastern music, and urban rhythms with a strong sense of identity.

Deeply inspired by her Greek roots, Melina writes and composes songs that she performs by singing, playing the oud, and dancing, creating a complete and captivating stage show. Her music is built on ornate melodies—drawn from the Eastern repertoire—that intertwine with layers of Eastern-inspired synthesizers, powerful beats, and contemporary pop structures. The result is a mystical, festive, and urban sound that blends influences from Balkan wedding music, Eastern Mediterranean sounds, and a distinctly contemporary sensibility.

Raised in a Franco-Greek family, Melina trained alongside artists from the Greek-Turkish music scene, an environment that had a decisive influence on her understanding of music. In that context, she acquired a deep knowledge of the Eastern repertoire and developed a special skill in the art of improvisation, a central element in both her compositions and her live performances. This training allows her to move with ease between oral tradition and contemporary languages, while always maintaining an organic connection to the body, dance, and emotion.

In 2025 , she released her first EP, *Melina*, a debut that brings together all these influences and clearly defines her artistic identity. The EP was very well received by music critics and marked a major turning point in her career, leading to her nomination for the 2026 Music Moves Europe Awards, one of the most prestigious awards for emerging talent in Europe. This milestone quickly put her on the radar of bookers, festivals, and industry professionals.

Melina’s live performance is an immersive and deeply expressive experience. On stage, her voice—rich in nuance and ornamentation—blends with the hypnotic sound of the oud, the physical presence of dance, and an electronic foundation that propels each song into expansive, collective territory. As Télérama noted, Melina moves “on the edge of highly ornamented singing, accompanying herself on the oud and dancing, in decidedly pop explorations that promise a bright future.”

Following the release of her debut EP, Melina has begun to establish herself on Europe’s leading platforms for emerging music. In December 2025, she performed at Bars en Trans, and in January 2026, she was part of the Eurosonic lineup, confirming her international reach and her ability to connect with diverse audiences.

In 2026, Melina is in the midst of her artistic growth, solidifying an artistic vision that stands out for its originality, stage presence, and aesthetic coherence. Her music serves as a bridge between cultures, generations, and regions; a celebration of Mediterranean heritage reinterpreted through a contemporary lens that is free and open to the world.

Melina represents a new generation of artists who view tradition not as a limitation, but as a starting point for creating something radically personal. She is an ideal choice for programs seeking new sonic narratives, cultural identity, and a hypnotic, vibrant live performance.
