After the success of ‘La Sospecha’ and ‘Los Pies en el Mar’, ‘Emosido Engañado’ is the third advance of his new EP
The song is part of the soundtrack of a short film starring Salva Reina, winner of a Goya in the last edition
El Jose is preparing his new live show that will be presented in a tour starting this fall.
After the success of his previous previews ‘La Sospecha’ and ‘Los Pies en el Mar’, the latter also the title of his next album and current tour, El Jose launches ‘Emosido engañado’, a new single that adds to his collection of vital and popular hymns. To the rhythm of street rumba, sly and sincere, El Jose invites us to sing and dance to truths that hurt and awaken, to the cry of a chorus that his followers are already chanting: “si a este mundo vinimos, no es pa’ dejarlo así, y ya que estamos vivos, po’ habrá que vivir” (if we came to this world, it’s not to leave it like this, and since we’re alive, we’ll have to live).
The lyrics mix tenderness and disappointment: “nobody told us about the tax return… or that grandmothers didn’t last forever” he sings in this new song, which is also the soundtrack of a short film starring Salva Reina, winner of a Goya in the last edition. Jose returns to put words and music to emotions that are common to most people, in a rumba that is at the same time a social chronicle, collective therapy and celebration of life.
The song is part of the new work that will see the light in the next months and that comes after the solid tour of ‘Seguro de na’ (2021), the album that consecrated the band as one of the most loved and genuine proposals of the national panorama . That album, self-produced as the previous ones, placed El Jose in the circuit of the great halls and sold out tickets in cities all over Spain and Latin America. El Jose has a consolidated community of increasingly loyal followers. The journalist Fernando Neira, a reference of the Spanish music critics, did not hesitate to place the band at the level of names like Rozalén or El Kanka.
El Jose
El Jose is a musical project born in 2015 in the city of Granada (Albayzín neighborhood) by the hand of the Granada-born Jose Miguel Romerosa (lyricist, vocals and guitar) and the Jaén-born Alberto Sapillo (bassist) who were later joined by drummer Nano Diaz (Jaén), Juanma García Navia (Almendralejo, Badajoz) on keyboards and flute, Julián Suárez (Córdoba, Argentina) on electric guitar and Jesús Santiago (Granada) on percussion.
El Jose signs songs of diverse genres and stylistic mixtures. Driven by the strength of his lyrics, his creations induce the listener to a journey through different states of the emotional and psychic geography of the human being. Careful verses assembled with the beauty of the most vulgar expression, form poetry on a soundscape that never loses its Granada nature. In this way, he assumes and adds the colors that he discovers throughout the varied universe of the most popular music (as far as people are concerned) of each place and taking the dynamics of his shows from the most precious intimacy, to the most punk pogo, without ever leaving aside the humor or the most vindictive character of the protest song.
